Only 2 Old Sages

Only 2 Old Sages
Two bookcases remain
Cajoled she donates
Read for your laps
A lap top of course
Slow but has light
Can be out of sight
Hours of reading
Many hours typing

Missing hard pages
           Only 2 like old Sages

smiles.. i love my laptop but there's nothing that could replace a real book that smells of paper and adventure..

Well, this has me trying to guess the story.

Your poem made me wonder about the context. Who she is, why she has to be out of sight...

nice rhyme scheme...i could spend all day in a bookstore or library....

There is something wonderful about holding a book, but I'll admit that I read more and more on my tablet. The diminishing need for bookshelves is somewhat alarming though!

Like the abstract take on Claudia's sketch; do not quite follow the thrust of it, but like the feel of it, & the direction it takes us.

This was a most interesting take on the painting. 2 old sages you say? Nicely done.

I like this very much and almost chose this painting of Claudia's...old books on shelves, the musty scent almost reaches out at us...and I like how you made a snapshot of it but in poetry..

hmm...I cannot imagine a life without the physical, tangible feel of books. they are such a soothing presence....I imagine one day I will have a museum room instead of a library. hmmm...

the reader and the writer ...the two old sages who still hold the books in hand and spend hours together...

Reading a book like letter writing may in no time be discarded. If only the passion persists! Nicely Seaside!

"Missing hard pages" says it all for me--love my iPad but don't relate visually to the epage the way I do to a paper page.
